“‘Hillaway Ponies’ is an enlargement of a small bronze I created to honor two remarkable women who were the directors of Camp Hillaway in Hackensack, Minnesota. The camp had used the silhouette image of two ponies as a logo, and I created a three-dimensional version at the request of former campers.”

Nicholas’ other work is currently on permanent display at the Target Center, Gustavus Adolphus College, and Coffman Union at the University of Minnesota.

  • $10,000

“The fat tire sculptures I create are such a delight as they become the most hands on and most photographed pieces of all of the exhibitions they are part of. Everyone from a small child to elderly men and women put a smile on their faces and a lightness to their step as they imagine or remember exciting times with the timeless velocipede! Although my cycles are stationary, they still speak of racing down the open road.”
