The Biker

Victor Yepez

Luce Line / Riverside Park N.E.

www.mnartists.org/victoryepez

$7,000

“Creating art is a gift that celebrates the connection between the world and myself.  My art is inspired by everything around me, made with passion and love, limitless and indestructible.  Everyday reality meets with my imagination, freely creating a language, which allows me to express myself.  Mind, spirit, body, and soul come together to reach the muses.  I use materials, tools, colors, and forms to prepare and walk the path of creativity.  Then the magic moment comes to embrace and incubate the idea with scenes full of life.  The divine combines with mortal flesh to =awaken and illuminate sensibility and appreciation.  The moment of verification arrives when the art consolidates itself. “

Seated Couple

Rick Haugen

 Library Square

www.bronzeagefsd.com

$19,000

“I am intrigued by the ambiguity of the joined figures.  Both the union of the two forms and the contemplative expressions instill a sense of serenity.  It is my hope that viewers will interact with the piece, perhaps sitting as one with the couple.”

“Rick studied art and anthropology at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, where he focused on stone carving, bronze casting, printmaking and studying cultures throughout time.  After graduating, Rick had the privilege of working as a full-time assistant to renowned Minnesota sculptor Paul Granlund for five years and then operating the studio and foundry for two years after Granlund’s death.  In 2006, Rick founded Bronze Age Casting in Sioux Falls.”

Judd Nelson

 Shopko

JUDDNELSONSTUDIOS.COM

$9,200

“My sculptures are focused on Midwest America, specifically the activities of our people and the wild animals that live all around us.  My sculptures are life size and the imagery is modern yet representational.  My style is fluid and spontaneous, intent upon capturing movement and natural gestures that are typical of each specific subject.  With my pieces, you can look into and through them. It creates an interesting dynamic with the positive and negative space.  I build in a three dimensional manner, constantly rotating and welding, so the sculpture can be appreciated from every vantage point. The sculptures are made from salvaged and reclaimed steel, making them environmentally friendly.”

Kimber Fiebiger

 Library Square

artbykimber.com

$14,000

“Born and raised in Minnesota, Kimber Fiebiger has dedicated her entire life to the arts. Her whimsical and fun side is represented by her Humpty Dumpty creations and Kimber is known as the Humpty Dumpty lady in the art world. The jovial and joyful expressions of her creations are direct representations of her dedication to make people smile each time they encounter one of her Humpty Dumpties. Their friendly appearance and energy filled poses exemplify her ongoing interest in engaging the public into an experience that creates a tactile interaction between the viewer and the piece. When encountered by the viewers, their reactions vary, but the Humpty Dumpties have been hugged many, many times.”

Astral

Karman Rheault

 Historic Church

www.snowfirestudio.com

$10,000

“Astral depicts both feminine and masculine ethereal figures reaching up and joining at the sun, but grounded by the earth. It symbolizes nature, spirit, balance and connection.”

“My passion for creating new and interesting works of art has led me on a path of discovery through several different mediums in the past 20+ years. For the past decade I have been most often driven to use a plasma cutter and welder to create 3-dimensional steel and mixed media sculptures. I prefer to use the inherent colors of the metal and add color by heating with a torch or by rusting it to produce a rich natural patina. I am always creating something whether it be a wall sculpture, jewelry, or large outdoor sculptures.”

“With the horizon of fields in sight, the farmer and dog, at water’s edge, proudly anticipates the future of tomorrow.”

“Lawrence Starck is a realistic figurative sculptor with no limitations to subject or style. Starck can capture a moment in time and turn it into an eternity. Every image is powerfully and painstakingly executed while each figure demonstrates his demand for the highest degree of excellence and quality in his work.”

Orbit II

David Hyduke

 Luce Line / Pedestrian Bridge

$7,000

“My work has predominately been cast in bronze having operated my own foundry for the past 35 years. Previously, the largest content of the sculptures explored the interrelated qualities of organic forms and the human figure.  Organic themes explore the fundamentals of the natural world such as the origins of life, growth and decay, while figurative themes go beyond to various physical representations of the human spirit such as music and dance. Though I continue to work in bronze, I’ve recently been working in sheet metal also. I have found fabrication to be a natural extension of my modeled clay pieces as they are often hard edged with clearly delineated planes. “
